What is a random act of kindness? According to the nice people at Random Acts, and in the words of event manager Hilary Keane, “A random act of kindness is a surprise gesture to someone who needs a little brightness bringing to their world. Random Acts is here to help inspire and facilitate these acts of kindness by providing funding or other support to anyone who wishes to help someone else.
An act of kindness doesn’t need to be a grand gesture. It can be something as simple as offering a ride to someone who doesn’t have a car, volunteering in your local community or spending time with the elderly.”
Easy, right? And probably you do spontaneous things all the time. It makes the world spin easier in this endless spiral around the sun, it make the human community jog along together a bit smoother, and it makes you feel good. BOTH of you feel good.
So here’s the thing. Random Acts is having a game to see which of us Annual Melee of Kindness participants can get the most people to register for the March 10th event, and then who come back to Random Acts’ website to report in regarding completion of the registered acts. It’s like they want statistics!! We will have a pretty awesome impact statement when all this is touted up, though.

So what do you say? Want to come be a little brightness bringer with me? Just be sure to tell them that Jonya Pacey sent you, OK? And drop me a line and let me know you signed up, and what you plan to do, so when I get back from Gulf Wars I can get in touch to see how it went.
BTW, I’ve been gently teased by people for years cause I like hugs. I do. Imagine my smile when I saw the AMOKuggles critter!
